some of the stuff on my HDD

Ok here's some of my WIPs, since i've had people ask about what's going on with them.
first the oldest, which i haven't touched in a while, long while.

my first experience with a pen tool was on that one.
i have no idea of how long i've had the others, as far as which was started first.

the lines are drawn, not vectored. it was practice with making my hand steadier with my wacom.

the start of a collab with one of the coolest people on AP, who i'm not naming. the person hasn't even seen this yet, because i started over with the bg, when before i had a fg part i was working on. i didn't like it enough so it'll be redone.

a really simple wall i'm doing that's going to focus on the recg. i'm going to try to make it as realistic as possible. almost all the skin you see here is my work, except the neck and ear. i haven't done the hair except the eyebrow. the concept behind the wall is weird, and i'm not sure how many will understand it, and for those who don't the wall may look unfinished when i'm done. but those who do understand it should like it, i hope.

obviously incomplete. gonna put mics in their hands and add more lighting and effects, and do a hell of a lot of blending. i have a concept for a follow up wall with male characters in a heavy metal band, but i want to finish this first.

the last i'm sharing. this one has bounced around AP in a way. i started it for the stalker contest of coloring a b&w scan. then i wanted to finish it for the scenic sexy contest. then i contemplated bringing it back to the stalker secret number contest, but now i've decided i'm going to use it for the scenic project "Arus Fantasia." it may not look like i've done much with this, but i wouldn't be surprised if i have more than 20 hours into it already. there's a lot of detail in there and most of the work is recg, so yeah. it takes a while to make clean lines that small. though some is done with the pen tool using paths (if i'm going to vector, i'm going to do it in AI. PS is not a vector application, and doesn't work well for real vectors. all of you using it to make "vectors" are not making real vectors, just so you know. PS works with pixels, pixels and vectors do not coexist. it's either one or the other. so if you want to make real vectors, that pwn the PS vector, use illustrator. {nice rant dan})
ok, so that's it for what i'm sharing here. i pretty much know what i want to do with these but feel free to leave comments and/or suggestions.
ciao for now.

About Me
So, yeah... I've been watching anime since i was about 10 I think, not so sure. started with the sci-fi channels special they ran every year, and those early ones have always stuck w/ me; Project A-ko, Akira... the basic ones they showed. Good times. Now, i don't watch as much as i would like, eh, c'est la vie. Every once in a while i get bored, and draw some stuff, if i get some incentive i'll make something nifty for everyone. and that's about it. ciao.

PREPARE FOR TROUBLE
PREPARE FOR TROUBLE
Thanks for the very detailed critiques over in SZ on my "Blue on Black" wall. It's really helpful when they are so detailed. So in return, here's what I'm doing.
I'm working on adding much more detail than there already is to the background especially. There's going to be a lot more rain and a lot more splash on the front windows and the lines for the water run-off are going to be enhanced a bit. The dagger is going to get a stronger water effect with red tint included. I did work on the idea of slanting Roy a bit, but if I did I'd lose the inside of the phone booth, which is the black-themed half of the wall. So what I plan on doing is turning up the detail there as well.
The new version should be up in a couple days, so I'd really appreciate if you could check it out when it's up.

Yeah, I enjoy learning about it too. My major is specifically a bio subcategory called Ecology, Behavior, and Evolution. In one of my bio labs I really liked the DNA isolation and sequencing techniques we did to investigate the relationships (speciation) among antarctic organisms. I figure I would like to do more of that kind of stuff - where you help research, document, and identify unknown species, and investigate their life histories. Because most species we have little knowledge/data about (especially marine organisms), so I think discovering new things about them is pretty cool. :)
Haha yea. XD
Yep, and thanks. :3
Thanks! Ah, because aside from having art training, my dad was a naval postgraduate school physics professor, so I had a lot of scientific upbringing too. I actually do art more for fun (I hate the frufru artsy stuff they make you do in school courses, blech) and I'd like to do biological research (on wildlife and ecosystems) or become a biological illustrator. :) I also think that basing a career only on art may not be very profitable in the long run too, so I do art as a side thing, so if people like my stuff then it could be an extra source of income! XD Of course as of now I'm still in school and have yet to find a full time job.
Youit's all about quality, nothing to do with quantity. i know you agree, your gallery proves it.
Yep, and thanks. :3
edit: just read your info. first, nice tuts! and it's awesome that you were able to get that much arts training growing up. how'd you decide that you wanted biology as your major though?

No prob. ^_^ I thought he was being quite rude too and I agreed with your critique, so I felt some defense was needed. :3
Thanks for the comment. Yes that's is true, I got pretty lazy after doing all those stones.
No problem buddy. People who think they are too good for critique really piss me off. ;)
Take a look at "Nagisa~love forever~" in session zero.
Thanks for your recent comment on " Bloody Memory". I modified it, so can you take a look at it again?
Thank You for your advice for my "Bloody Clown". Then can you take a look at another wallpaper of mine?
